Niko Münzenrieder

Sensor Technology Research Centre, University Of Sussex, UK

Niko Münzenrieder studied physics at the Technical University Munich (Germany), and wrote his diploma thesis the Walter Schottky Institute. Afterwards, he joined the Electronics Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (Switzerland). He received a PhD in electrical engineering in 2014, and the ETH medal for his work on flexible oxide based electronics in 2015.

Currently, Niko is a Senior Lecturer in Sensor Technology at the University of Sussex (UK), and head of the Flexible Electronics Laboratory. He is working on the fabrication and characterization of electronic devices on plastic substrates. His research focuses on the electrical and mechanical properties of oxide semiconductors, flexible thin-film transistors and sensors, as well as the realization of deformable analogue circuits for systems such as epidermal electronics or smart textiles.
